Jonathan A. C. Brown accepted Islam in 1997 as a university student. He went on to become a leading Western scholar of Hadith literature and Islamic law, teaching at Georgetown University. His books on the Prophet Muhammad and on the canonical Hadith collections have made classical Islamic scholarship accessible to English-speaking readers.
