Why Islam?
Three reasons worth your time.
Because it is simple.
One God, no intermediaries, no complications. Worship Him directly and follow the guidance He sent.
Because it makes sense.
Every step follows logically from the one before. You can stop and question at any point.
Because it is the same message.
Sent with Adam, Noah, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad — one unbroken call to worship the One who made you.
Reason it through, step by step
The belief system of Islam rests on five concepts that build one on top of the next — God's existence, His oneness, revelation, accountability, and the prophets. Each step only asks you to accept what the one before it already established. It is simple, it makes sense, and you can stop and argue at any point.
Step 1 of 5
God's Existence
Something cannot come from nothing
The question
Where did everything come from?
Look at anything around you, this page, your hand, the galaxy overhead. It exists. And it did not have to.
The universe had a beginning. Whatever begins to exist depends on something outside itself. Trace that dependence back and you arrive at something that never began, never depends, and never ends: uncreated, powerful, knowing, willing. That is what the word God means before any religion attaches a name to it.
Or were they created from nothing? Or are they their own creators?
Qur'an 52:35
The options
Option 1 — Created by nothing
Absolute nothing has no power to produce anything. Nothing does nothing, forever.
Option 2 — Created itself
To create itself it would have to exist before it existed. That is not a mystery, it is a contradiction.
Option 3 — Created by something created
Pushing the question back one step never answers it. An infinite queue of borrowers with no lender explains nothing.
Option 4 — Created by something uncreated
The only option left standing. Not a bigger version of us, a necessary, eternal, willing Creator. Islam calls Him Allah.
A fair test
Read the Qur'an before deciding about it.
Most people who reject Islam have never read a page of its book, and most who accept it did so after reading it. We will post you a free copy anywhere in the world — no cost, no follow-up, no obligation.
