Their journey to Islam
- Trained at Cornell and Brown
- Faced his daughter’s critical illness
- Investigated religions after her recovery
The full story
Brown had the clinical language for crisis but no language for surrender. When his newborn daughter faced grave danger, he begged the Creator he did not yet believe in to save her and promised to search. Her recovery did not end the inquiry; it began it. He tested traditions, rejected inherited formulas and found in Islam the direct worship he had promised to pursue.
