- Endured family rejection; his mother later accepted Islam
The full story
He had escaped street life through the monastery and stood near ordination when a stranger asked for Jesus’s own command to be worshipped. Narrative and later doctrine came readily; a direct quotation did not. The question followed him into his room and correspondence followed the question. Islam cost him his home and his parents’ acceptance. Years later, the mother who once refused even her Muslim grandson’s name also embraced Islam.
